Choc-Nut Smoothie

This quick and easy recipe was created by registered dietitian, Retha Harmse.

The Choc-Nut Smoothie is a delicious and nutritious blend that combines the rich flavours of chocolate and nutty goodness. It starts with frozen bananas and frozen courgettes, which add a creamy texture and natural sweetness to the smoothie.

To enhance the chocolaty taste, a tablespoon of cocoa powder is added, providing a deep and indulgent flavour. The smoothie gets its nutty profile from a combination of roasted unsalted macadamias and almonds, which also contribute a satisfying crunch.

Ground flax seeds are included to offer a boost of omega-3 fatty acids and fibre. A touch of pure vanilla extract adds a delightful aroma and complements the other ingredients perfectly. To bring it all together, use the milk of your choice as the base. If you need a dairy-free option, unsweetened oat milk can be used, providing a creamy consistency.

The Choc-Nut Smoothie is a fantastic choice for chocolate lovers seeking a wholesome and refreshing treat.
